C. J. Stoessner & Co., 2005, Smithfield, Virginia

Chris began his antiques store at 119 N. Church St. in downtown Smithfield in October of 2000, at age 17.  The store grew and expanded into all types of home furnishings, including new and used furniture.  In 2004, Chris felt the calling to enter the funeral profession and joined a firm in Newport News.

In 2005, Chris's family relocated to the Outer Banks and he then joined a family owned funeral home in Manteo, NC where he gained expereince.  It was during this time that he obtained his NC Funeral Service License and his VA Funeral Provider's license (licensed in both Funeral Directing and Embalming for both states).

In 2008, Chris saw the need in the Outer Banks community for a dignified cremation service for animals and started "Outer Banks Pet Cremations."  The tradition is continued today by Pet Cremation Services of Tidewater, who continue to service two area vets.
